This antique brooch features the most wonderful crescent moon and star design. The moon is studded with seed pearls, and the star is set with a beautiful old cut diamond, pale pink coral cabochons and more seed pearls.
 
The brooch is made of gold, unhallmarked but tests as at least 9ct gold. The pin is made of silver coloured base metal. 
 
The brooch measures approx 28.4mm wide by approx 26.6mm tall by approx 5.5mm deep and weighs approx 6.3g in total. The back of the brooch has a gold panel and it is hollow behind this.
 
Condition - The brooch is in good antique condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to gold, diamond, coral cabochons and seed pearls. The seed pearls vary in size and colour with some showing more signs of age and wear than others, we think some could be possible replacements. The gold has what looks to be two old test marks to the back panel where the gold is a slightly different colour. The pin mechanism still works and has a safety mechanism to the clasp.
