Often given as medals for competitions and engraved with the winner's details, we love to find these antique and vintage fobs to see what detailing they have. Sometimes they also feature family crests, initials or special dates. This particular fob hasn't been engraved to the centre shield or to the back, leaving room to add your own personalisation.
This antique gold fob has beautiful detailing and a plain gold shield in the centre with pretty cut out detailing to the border.
The fob is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to the back for the maker 'W.A', 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'i' for 1908. The attached jump ring is also hallmarked for 9ct gold.
The fob measures approx 32.3mm tall (Not including the jump ring but including the fitting at the top) by approx 21mm wide by approx 2mm deep and weighs approx 4.65g.
Condition - The fob is in good antique condition for a piece that is 100 years old but not surprisingly for a piece of this age, it does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear and some dark marks to the gold. The jump ring is currently pushed closed and does have some marks and wear to it too. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the fob will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
