We love this unusual vintage silver charm - it has such a wonderful secret tucked inside! Shaped like a rum bottle and labelled 'RUM' to the outside, the charm opens to reveal a silver elephant inside. We think it relates to the phrase 'seeing pink elephants' which meant you were highly intoxicated.
The charm is made of sterling silver, unhallmarked. The charm measures approx 13.5mm tall by approx 17.5mm wide (not including the jump ring) by approx 8.8mm deep and weighs approx 3.5g. The jump ring is attached to one side of the bottle so it hangs sideways when worn.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear and patina to the silver throughout. The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm closes with a click. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
