This vintage silver opening picnic charm is such a sweet one. We love the detail to the outside of the basket to mimic a woven picnic basket and the charm opens to reveal tiny cutler inside the lid and a miniature teapot and plates inside the basket.
The charm is made of sterling silver, unhallmarked but tested, and weighs approx 4.2g. The charm measures when closed approx 8.7mm tall by approx 17.4mm deep (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.2mm wide.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including surface wear and tarnishing to the silver, especially inside the basket. The hinge mechanism works well and the charm pushes closed. We think there could have once been a latch to the basket lid but this is now missing. The ring at the top that the jump ring connects to is pushed closed and the jump ring is also currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
