Bees carry such a lot of symbolism; including fertility, focus, industry and persistence to name just a few things! This vintage sterling silver opening beehive charm is not only lovely to look at from the outside, but it also opens up to reveal a bee inside too.
The charm is made of sterling silver, unhallmarked. We love how the beehive is detailed all the way around and even has three little legs too.
The charm measures approx 15.8mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 14.2mm wide by approx 14.9mm deep and weighs approx 5.2g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear and patina to the silver throughout. The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm closes with a click to stay closed when worn but the two halves do have some movement when closed and the base does open sightly but the latch keeps the charm closed. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
