We love finding snake motifs in jewellery, especially when the design is the snake wrapping itself around you when worn. Just like this vintage rolled gold snake bangle that beautifully wraps around your wrist when worn with the head and tail resting against one another. It also has two wonderful glinting garnet eyes too!
The bracelet is made of rolled gold, marked 'ROLLED GOLD' to the back of the snake's head. This means the bracelet is made of base metal with a fine layer of gold adhered to the top to give the look of solid gold but without the price tag. There is also a mark that reads 'MADE IN GERMANY' and also a maker's mark 'SP'.
The internal measurements of the bangle are approx 54.4mmmm by 49.3mm and weighs approx 18.4g.
The bracelet is worn by slipping it over the hand and as the two ends are not connected there is some expansion in the bracelet to accommodate it passing over your wrist. The bracelet is approx 6mm wide and the head measures approx 9.3mm wide.
Condition - The bracelet is in good vintage condition but it does show some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the rolled gold and garnet eyes. Please see photos.
