We love this quirky vintage lucky talisman charm. Featuring a little gold axe that looks as if it has been swung into a log that's made from a tiny cylindrical piece of wood. Often charms that feature a piece of wood are called 'touch wood' charms. The phrase means touch wood to banish bad luck so this charm would be to hand when worn so you always have wood to touch to banish any bad luck!
The axe section of the charm is made of gold, unhallmarked but tests as at least 9ct. The log section is made of wood and there are two points of gold from the axe that connect the two together.
The charm weighs approx 0.5g and measures approx 12.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 7.8mm wide by approx 4.1mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear to the gold and wood. The wood has split a little where one of the gold connection points has been driven into the wood but the connection is still secure. The jump ring is currently pushed closed and has an old solder mark to it. Please see photos.
