We realise that normally 'cute' and 'skeleton' are not two words that usually go together, but how cute is this vintage gold moving skeleton charm!? This rare charm has lots of different moving parts, so it looks like it almost could come alive when worn.
 
Skeleton and skull jewellery is often referred to as memento mori jewellery, a latin phrase which means 'remember you must die' so these pieces act as little wearable tokens to remind you that life is precious! It would also make an incredible charm for a Halloween lover!
 
The charm is made of 9ct gold, with British hallmarks to the ring that the jump ring connects to for 9ct gold, Birmingham. There is also a maker's mark but it's hard to make out clearly. The skeleton is made up of 5 different parts, all cleverly connected together to give the charm its wondeful movement.
 
Without full British hallmarks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we think given its style and lack of hallmarks, it's likely circa 1950s/60s in age.
 
The charm weighs approx 1.5g and measures approx 28.5mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 9mm wide by approx 3.5mm deep. The charm has wonderful detailing throughout.
 
Condition - The charm is in very good vintage condition with just some very light signs of age, including some very light surface wear to the gold. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
