One of our favourite styles of chains to find, this vintage curb link chain is such a useful piece to add to your jewellery box. We love its chunky curb link, dog clips and fixed T-bar. It's made of base metal with a gold tone overlay which is yellow in tone, giving it the look of a gold chain but without the price tag!
This style of chain were originally watch chains to attach a pocket watch to but now they make such lovely necklaces when the dog clips are connected together. The chain is such a versatile piece as you can wear it with the dog clips to the back with the T-bar to the front as a pendant or in reverse with the clasp at the front - either as is or with charms and pendants added. If you have more than one chain like this you can even connect them together too to make one longer necklace.
The chain is made of base metal with a gold coloured/toned overlay, the chain is not made of gold. The chain, T-bar and dog clips do not have any maker's marks.
The chain measures approx 16 3/4 inches long including the dog clips. The chain weighs approx 20.5g in total and the curb link measures approx 4.4mm wide. The T-bar measures approx 41.5mm long/wide and is fixed in position on the chain. The dog clips are a nice large size and each measure approx 30.5mm long.
Condition - The chain is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the metal. The dog clip hinges still work well. Please see photos.
