Keys are such symbolic items, we love that key charms can have so many different meanings. Some people give key charms for milestone birthdays, like turning 18 or 21, as a representation of the 'key to the door' when becoming an adult. They also make great charms to symbolise moving home or to give to someone who holds the key to your heart.
This vintage gold key charm has lovely detailing. It looks like it could have originally been a watch key to wind a pocket watch but a decorative end looks to have been added at a later date now making it a decorative key. The charm is made of gold which tests as 9ct. The key is unhallmarked.
The key measures approx 20mm long by approx 9.6mm wide by approx 3.3mm deep and weighs approx 0.75g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold. The end of the key looks like it could be a later addition and there are signs of it being soldered to the key. Please see photos.
