We love how unusual this vintage gold charm is. Featuring a mousetrap that is actually sprung, there's a heart resting where a piece of food would be placed and the arm can be pulled back and when it's let go it springs back in place!

The heart has lovely red enamel detail, we think the charm likely symbolises someone 'catching your heart' - a fun and quirky style of romantic charm!

The charm is gold filled, meaning it is made of base metal with a layer of gold adhered to the top. Both the charm and the jump ring are marked 1/20 12K which means the top layer of gold is 12ct. 1/20th of the charm's weight is gold (5%) which is what the 1/20 part of the marks stands for.

Without further marks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we think given its styleit's likely circa 1950s in age.

The charm weighs approx 1.1g and measures approx 21.4mm long (not including the jump ring) by approx 9.3mm wide by approx 3.7mm deep.

Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnishing to the gold filled metal with some dark marks in places. There is also some wear to the red enamel heart in places. The spring still works well and the arm snaps back in place when you let go of it. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
