This vintage gold heart padlock bracelet would be the perfect base for a charm bracelet. Although we have to admit it does look really pretty worn as it is too. It has a great, sturdy link that's large enough for easily adding jump rings onto. You could even clip charms onto the dog clip clasp too if you didn't want to permanently attach charms to the bracelet. 
 
Both the bracelet chain, dog clip and safety chain are made of 9ct gold, unhallmarked but tested. The dog clip is a slightly different shade to the bracelet so we think this could be a later addition/replacement clasp. The link that connects the dog clip to the bracelet chain is base metal with a gilded top layer of gold.
 
The bracelet measures approx 6 3/4 inches long including the dog clip clasp and the chain link is approx 5.8mm wide. There is an attached safety chain which means that the bracelet opens to approx 9 inches long to slip over the hand to be worn. The bracelet weighs approx 12.7g in total. 
 
Condition - The bracelet is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear to the chain and dog clip clasp. There is some surface wear to the gold throughout. As mentioned above, the link that connects the dog clip to the bracelet is base metal with a gilded top layer of gold, this has worn away in places on the link and shows the base metal underneatThe dog clip clasp still works well and is slightly different in colour the bracelet link so could be a possible replacement clasp.
