This fob is such a beautiful piece of jewellery, originally made to wear on a watch chain and have close to hand for when you needed to stamp a wax seal, we think it makes an unusual pendant when worn on a chain.
The bottom of the fob is set with a piece of dark coloured glass which reads 'SEPARATED BUT NOT DISUNITED' and has two hearts joined by what looks to be a ribbon or rope. The design is mirrored so when the fob is used, the design is printed into the wax the right way round.
The fob is made of a base metal and the casing has a lovely design to it. There is a fixed bail at the top which can be used to put the fob directly onto a chain or charm holder/clasp or a jump ring could be added to this.
The fob measures approx 20mm tall by approx 13.5mm wide by approx 13.3mm deep and weighs approx 2.7g in total.
Condition - The fob is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is wear to the metal casing throughout and the edge that holds the stone in place is a little uneven. There is also some surface wear to the seal at the bottom. The fixed bail can be used to slide directly on to a chain or clip. Please see photos.
