This vintage brooch features the most wonderful fox head, studded with diamonds and set with two ruby eyes. The fox head is resting upon a gold riding crop with silver details.
The fox head is made of silver and the riding crop has been hand marked '14ct' for 14ct gold. The brooch also has the maker's mark 'A&W' which looks like a British maker's mark. Without further marks, it's hard to date the brooch exactly but we think given its style and materials used it's likely circa 1930s.
The fox head measures approx 11.2mm tall by approx 8.2mm wide and the riding crop measures approx 57mm wide by approx 15.2mm tall (the handle section). The brooch weighs approx 5.25g in total.
Condition - The brooch is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the silver, gold, diamonds and rubies. The stones vary in size, cut and colour. The pin mechanism still works well and there is a gold flap that pushes down to hold the pin in place when closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the brooch will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
