This sweet vintage silver charm looks like an unassuming Art nouveau style floral charm/pendant but it would likely have been originally worn on a pocket watch chain, keeping it close at hand for when the wearer was out an about and needed a miniature fruit knife!
We love how wonderfully detailed the case is, which beautiful chased floral details in an Art Nouveau style.
The outer casing of the charm is made of silver, unhallmarked, and weighs approx 2.9g. The inner of the charm and knife is made of a silver coloured base metal which does now have quite a lot of tarnishing and dark marks to it.
The pendant measures approx 28.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 7.7mm wide by 3.7mm deep when the knife is closed in. When the fruit knife blade is cully extended it measures approx 44.6mm tall (not including the jump ring).
Condition - The charm is in wearable vintage condition but it does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear and tarnishing throughout, esepcially to the knife compartment and blade. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the pendant will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
