A true timeless classic, a locket is such a great jewellery staple for any collection. We love the size of this sweet little vintage gold locket! Perfect for adding into a charm collection or wearing everyday on its own, it's petite size means you'll likely forget it's around your neck!
The locket is made of 9ct yellow gold and has a sweet engraved detail to the front panel and to the back the panel has British hallmarks for the maker 'SJ', 9ct gold, Birmingham. There is also a date hallmark but it is now quite worn so can't be read clearly. The 9ct gold hallmark dates the locket to between 1975 and 1998. We think it's likely circa 1980s in age.
Inisde, a small photo or other little memento can be added to each half of the locket. Currently there is what looks to be the original blue card backing in each half.
The locket measures approx 11.2mm tall, approx 18.3mm tall including the fitting and bail at the top, by approx 8.7mm wide by approx 4mm deep and weighs approx 0.75g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold throughout. The hallmarks are a little worn and rubbed, with the date letter now almost completely worn away. The bail is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
