We know it's good manners never to look inside somebody's handbag, but you just have to peek inside this vintage gold bag/purse charm!
The bag is wonderfully detailed to both sides and each side is set with a small faux turquoise stone. The bag is hinged and opens to reveal the inside too!
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold, unhallmarked but tested. Without hallmarks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we think it's likely circa 1970s in age.
The charm measures approx 14.2mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 14.4mm wide by approx 6.3mm deep and weighs approx 2.25g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold and faux turquoise stones, these look to have been glued in place. The hinge mechanism works well and the charm pushes closed. There are gaps to the seam when the bag is closed so we wouldn’t recommend using the charm as a locket. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
