This vintage, 9ct gold heart padlock bracelet is such a lovely, wearable everyday piece. It has a nice, flat curb style link a small gold padlock that acts as the clasp.
The bracelet is made of 9ct gold, with British hallmarks for the maker 'ALD', 9ct gold, London. The padlock is also hallmarked for the maker 'LC' and 9ct gold.
The chain measures approx 7 inches long and the chain link is approx 7.5mm long by approx 5mm wide. The link is hollow. There is an attached safety chain which means that the bracelet opens to approx 9 inches long to slip over the hand to be worn. The padlock measures approx 13.8mm tall by approx 10mm wide by approx 1mm deep. The bracelet weighs approx 3g in total.
The padlock opens by pulling the top lever upwards and closes by being pushed back down again until you hear a click. This mechanism still works well. The padlock also has pretty faux screw and keyhole details to the front.
Condition - The bracelet is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is some light surface wear to the gold throughout on both the chain and padlock. One of the links on the safety chain is rounder than the others, possibly a replacement and this doesn't fit through the padlock ring so the padlock can only move so far along the safety chain currently. The padlock clasp still works well. Given the bracelet's lightweight design, we wouldn't recommend putting charms on the links unless they are also very lightweight. Please see photos.
