If you love interesting and intriguing jewels then this is the perfect ring for you! The signet ring's face features the Scottish Douglas Clan's crest of a salamander in the flames, bordered with a circular belt design that has their motto in French 'Jamais arriere' writtin within it which translates to 'Never behind'.
The ring is made of 9ct gold, unhallmarked but tested. Without hallmarks it's hard to date the ring exactly but we believe it likely dates to the mid 20th Century.
Ring size - approx a US 6 - 6 1/4 / approx a UK M (given the ring's chunky design it does feel to wear a little snugger than this)
The ring weighs approx 8g and the face measures approx 14.3mm by 12.9mm. The shank tapers down to approx 3.2mm wide at the back of the shank.
Condition - The ring is in good, wearable vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold throughout, inside and outside of the shank, giving the ring a worn and lived in feel. Please see photos.
