We love signet rings, their designs are often so timeless making them classic pieces to add to your jewellery box for years to come.
This chunky and heavy vintage signet ring is made of 9ct gold and features a detailed horse head design, pefect for the Year of the Horse. The ring has British hallmarks inside the shank for the maker 'CMS', 9ct gold and Birmingham. Without a date letter hallmark, it's hard to date the ring exactly but we think it's likely circa 1990s in age.
Ring size - the ring measures approx a UK Q / approx a US 8.25 on a ring mandrel
The ring weighs approx 10.9g and the face measures approx 16.7mm by 13.9mm and the shank tapers down to approx 3.3mm wide at the back of the shank.
Condition - The ring is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold including surface scratches which gives the ring a worn and lived in feel. There are some scratch marks to the inside of the ring behind the ring's face. There is a previous resize mark to the back of the shank. Please see photos.
