A timeless classic, we love finding lockets as they just never seem to go out of style and are truly romantic pieces! We love to wonder about what sweet love tokens were originally kept inside.
 
This vintage oval locket is made of 9ct gold front and back, which means the interior of the locket is made of base metal and the outside front and back casing of the heart is made of 9ct gold. This gives the look of solid gold, but without the pricetag, and also gives the locket extra stength as the base metal is sturdier than gold. The locket isn't hallmarked but has been tested.
 
Each outer side of the locket has wonderful floral detail that is slightly different to each side. We love that it could be worn either way around! Inside the locket opens up to reveal a glass panel and base metal frame that can be removed to add your own photo or memento. Currently there is a piece of backing material and behind two tiny pieces of card that have been used to pad the section of the locket out so the panel stays firm inside. The other side of the locket also has a base metal frame to hold a photo or memento but there is no glass to this side.  
 
The pendant weighs approx 2.95g and measures approx 23.2mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 16.6mm wide by approx 5.9mm deep.
 
Condition - The locket is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age including surface wear to the front and back panels and also inside the locket too including some dark marks to the base metal inside. The back front side of the locket has a noticeable scratch to it in the banner design. The locket hinge still works well and the locket pushes closed. As the hinge is still fairly stiff it holds closed when pushed to. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
