This sweet vintage gold and enamel Yin and Yang charm represents the Chinese philosophy for describing the opposite but interconnected, self-perpetuating cycle.
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and is marked '9ct' to the back of the charm. It’s hard to date the charm exactly without full British hallmarks but given its style and 9ct gold mark we think it’s likely approx 1950s in age. One half of the symbol features black enamel whilst the other side, traditionally the white side, has been left to show the yellow gold.
The charm weighs approx 2.15g and measures approx 14.9mm in diameter (approx 21.2mm tall including the jump ring) by approx 1.9mm deep.
Condition - The charm shows significant signs of age and wear, including surface wear and scratches to both the gold and the enamel. There is some black enamel loss in places. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
