We can't help but fall for a vintage gold dog charms when we see one, regardless of the breed! This vintage gold charm has the sweetest enamel detailing to the front depicting a white coloured terrier.
We had two very similar charms, one that featured a black terrier and one that featured a white terrier, in a similar style that sold previously, we believe all three were made from a pair of cufflinks and converted into charms at some point in time.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has a British hallmark on the back for 9ct gold. One of the previous similar charms we sold had hallmarks dating the charm to 1932 so this charm also very likely dates to 1932 too.
The charm measures approx 13mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 15mm wide by approx 1mm deep and weighs approx 1.5g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold and enamel. The enamel is overall in good condition for its age but when turned at an angle, surface scratches can be seen to the top layer of the enamel. There is a mark to the back of the charm where we believe the original cufflink attachment would have been. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
