Often made as sweetheart charms, this charm may have been a love token that someone serving in the Royal Air Force gifted to their significant other, or it may have been a memento they wore themselves to commemorate their years of service to be passed down through generations.
The vintage gold Royal Air Force charm is made of 9ct gold and has beautiful enamel detailing. The charm depicts an eagle in flight to the centre, framed with the RAF's Latin motto 'Per ardua ad adastra' which means ' through adversity to the stars'. There is also a small crown to the top with enamel detail too.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and is marked '9ct' to the bacl.
The charm weighs approx 1.25g and measures approx 18mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 15mm wide by approx 2mm deep. The charm is detailed to the front and plain to the back besides the gold mark.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear to the gold and enamel. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
