We love how unusual this vintage gold charm is. Featuring a cage made of 9ct gold, inside is a suspended metal heart with a pop of red enamel that swings beautifully inside. We think the charm represents the idea of keeping your loved one's heart safe. It would make such a sweet and sentimental gift to ask someone to keep your own heart safe!
The charm's design is definitely a rare one and one we haven't seen very often on our charm hunting travels.
The charm is made of 9ct gold, faintly marked '9ct' to the inside bottom of the cage. The suspended heart inside is made of a dark metal and has red enamel to each side. Without further hallmarks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we think given its style and the 9ct mark it's likely circa 1940s in age.
The charm weighs approx 1.3g and measures approx 15mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.2mm wide by approx 13.2mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnishing to the gold. There is some enamel loss to the heart inside. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
