This beautiful vintage brooch features such a pretty oval piece of dendritic agate set in a 9ct gold frame with a rope style border. The natural inclusions within the stone have formed in a way the looks a lot like an autumnal tree!
The agate's inclusions are a mixture of manganese or iron oxide minerals that were trapped inside the gemstone when the agate formed. It's like a miniature wearable piece of art.
The agate is set in a 9ct gold, marked '9c' to the back. The brooch has a simple 'c' style clasp to the back with a tube hinge pin.
The brooch weighs approx 7.6g in total and measures approx 30.3mm wide (not including the pin) by approx 24.4mm tall by approx 7.9mm deep (not including the pin or fittings).
Condition - The brooch is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold and agate. The pin fastening still works well but the pin is a little bent out of shape. Please see photos.
