A popular design used in the Victorian era, swallows were believed to represent love and were also given as a symbol of returning safely to your loved ones. This sweet charm would make a beautiful gift for a special someone to symbolise your commitment to each other. We think it would make an incredibly sentimental gift for a bride to be!
The charm is detailed to the front and depicts a swallow in flight carrying a heart in its beak.
The charm is made from 9ct gold and has British hallmarks on the back for the maker 'G&H', 9ct gold, London and the date letter ‘K’ for 1984. The swallow has lovely detailing to the front and is plain to the back besides the hallmarks.
The charm measures approx 15mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.6mm wide by approx 0.7mm deep. The charm weighs approx 0.4g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear, including light surface wear to the gold. The jump ring is currently pushed closed and is a lighter shade of 9ct gold than the charm itself. Please see photos for more detail.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
