These vintage gold bean charms have become highly collectable, and it's easy to see why! A symbol of luck, as well as rebirth and new beginnings, these charms can represent a variety of meanings within a jewellery collection.
This particular vintage gold bean charm dates to the 1970s and has a wonderfully smooth and tactile shape.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to one side for 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'E' for 1979. There is also a maker's mark but it is not clear enough to make out.
The charm measures approx 21.1mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 10.5mm wide by approx 5.3mm deep and weighs approx 1g in total. The charm is hollow in the middle and has been made by joining two halves of the bean together so there is a faint seam line that runs around the sides.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear including surface wear to the gold. There are a couple of small dings/indents to either side but for a hollow bean charm of this age it is in overall good condition. The jump ring is currently soldered closed and is a nice large size.
