Love to travel and see the world? Then this could be the perfect charm for you! This large vintage 1970s gold British passport charm is such a fun piece. Not only is it wonderfully detailed to the front, but it also opens to reveal a photo page inside.
The front cover reads 'BRITISH PASSPORT UNITED KINGDOM BRITAIN N.IRELAND'. There is also a raised gold Royal Coat of Arms detail and also two cut out windows showing the inside, the top window shows the 'PHOTO' page inside.
We think there was once likely a paper page stuck to the inside front cover of the charm as there is some glue residue still visible. The other inside page reads 'PHOTO' to the top so you could stick your own photo inside!
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks for the maker 'GJLD', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'A' for 1975.
The charm measures approx 23.5mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 16.4mm wide by approx 3.4mm deep and weighs approx 3.5g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold inside and out and also some glue residue from where we think a paper page was once stuck inside. The hinge still works well and the charm firmly closes. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
