This vintage cameo pendant is such a lovely example of cameo jewellery, we love that the cameo has been set in a sun/flower like 9ct gold border too. 
 
The cameo is made of shell and features a hand carving of a side portrait of a lady. The came is set in a 9ct gold frame with petal like decoration. It also makes us think of the sun's rays too! The ring at the top has British hallmarks for 9ct gold, the London Assay Office import mark and the date letter 'A' for 1975. The attached bail is also marked for 9ct gold, the maker's mark 'A*D' and what looks to be a hand scribed, faint stock number. We believe the bail could have been added at a later date and may not be original to the pendant.
 
The pendant weighs approx 2.9g and measures approx 25.8mm tall including the ring at the top but not the bail (approx 35.5mm tall including the bail) by approx 20.2mm wide by approx 6mm deep.
 
Condition - The pendant is in used vintage condition and does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to both the cameo and gold setting. One of the claws of the cameo's setting, the top right, has broken away. There is some movement in the cameo but it is still currently secure with the other three claws. The bail is pushed closed and can be removed.
