This vintage gold book charm is such a lovely piece, perfect for a book lover! It has beautiful detailing throughout and it opens to reveal a moving page inside with a message written to each side. One page reads 'Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself' and the other side reads 'Do unto others as you would be done'.
The locket is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks to the back cover for what looks to be the maker 'SP' (the pattern to the gold makes this mark hard to read clearly', 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'Z' for 1974.
The charm measures approx 15.5mm tall (including the fitting at the top but not the jump ring) by approx 14mm wide (when closed) by approx 5.4mm deep and weighs approx 3.2g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but it does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold throughout. The hinge mechanism of the charm still works well and the locket pushes closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the locket will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
