We know Balmoral held a special place in Queen Elizabeth II’s heart so it would also make a beautiful addition to a charm collection to symbolise the late Queen too.
These vintage shield charms were collected by people to add to charm bracelets to symbolise all of the places they’ve travelled to - it’s also so fun to discover them and see where people visited! Usually made of silver, there were also made in gold like this one, although the gold versions are harder to find now.
The charm has beautiful detailing to the front with pops of red, blue and yellow enamel colour.
The charm weighs approx 1.4g and measures approx 15.7mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.7mm wide by approx 1mm deep. To the back it has British hallmarks for what we think is likely the maker 'D&F’ (this mark is now quite worn and the second initial is hard to make out clearly, 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'X’ for 1972.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the gold and enamel. The back does have some visible scratches to it. The attached jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
