This vintage sterling silver heart padlock bracelet would be the perfect base for a charm bracelet. Although we have to admit it does look really pretty worn as it is too!
The bracelet is made of sterling silver, with each of the chain links bearing the lion passant for sterling silver and the padlock has British hallmarks for the maker 'WJS', the lion passant, Birmingham and the date letter 'S' for 1967.
The chain measures just under approx 7 1/2 inches (approx 19cm) long and the chain link is approx 4.4mm wide. Each chain end is connected by a safety chain so the chain doesn't open fully. The safety chain measures approx 2.35 inches (approx 6cm). The padlock measures approx 19.4mm tall by approx 12.8mm wide. The bracelet weighs approx 11.2g in total.
The padlock opens by pulling the top lever upwards and closes by being pushed back down again until you hear a click. This mechanism still works well. The padlock also has pretty faux screw and keyhole details to the front.
Condition - The bracelet is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There are two rings, one on ether end of the chain, where a safety chain would have been attached. A new one could be added by a jeweller if you would like to have this replaced. The top bar of the padlock is a little out of round and to the back of the padlock, top right, is little indented but it still works just fine. There is some light surface wear to the gold throughout on both the chain and padlock. Please see photos.
*Please note, the antique box and charms pictured are not included in the sale but the bracelet will be sent in a new presentation box and pouch. The charms pictured are available separately via our website if not already sold.*
