Some charms are subtle in their meaning and others are a little bit more to the point. This vintage gold heart and padlock charm is definitely clear about its message!
The heart reads 'YOU AR MINE' and has a sweet little padlock dangling from it, symbolising locking in your love and keeping someone's heart safe. The heart also has lovely open work detailing to the back too making it a pretty charm to wear with either side showing!
We love how the miniature padlock threads through the heart, it has been made separately too so it swings and moves above when worn.
The charm has wonderful detailing throughout and is made of 9ct gold. It has British hallmarks for the maker 'S&K', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'l' for 1966.
The heart measures approx 13.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 11.2mm wide by approx 3.9mm deep and the padlock measures approx 9.9mm tall by approx 6.5m wide by approx 2.1mm deep. In total the charm measures approx 19.8mm tall (not including the jump ring). The charm weighs approx 1.7g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold. There is an area to the right hand side of the heart where the letter 'E' would be where the gold is smoother in texture. The writing to the heart, where the letter 'M' is, is also partially disrupted by the 'S&K' maker's mark. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
