'No grit, no pearl.' We like to think that this vintage gold opening shell charm is a perfect wearable reminder that sometimes life knocks you down and you have to endure some rough patches but these only make you a stronger more beautiful human being in the process!
The charm has lovely detailing to both sides of the shell and opens to reveal a pearl inside. It's a lovely large sized charm and has a great weight to it too ov over 6g!
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks for the maker 'FM', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'k' for 1965. The charm weighs approx 6.2g and measures approx 19mm wide by approx 23.1mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 11.1mm deep when closed.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear to the gold and pearl. There is some glue visible inside the shell from when the pearl has been set and also some tarnishing to the gold inside the shell. The hinge mechanism still works well but the charm only pushes closed, it doesn't click closed, so it can move and open when worn. Due to the way the shell hangs and the weight of each half of the shell it does tend to sit closed when worn on a necklace. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and antique box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
