This Vintage gold compass charm/pendant is such a fun piece of a jewellery. The compass needle moves (we can't vouch for it's accuracy though), giving the charm a lovely quirky element. We love its symbolism too, representing motivation and direction.
The compass casing/frame is made of 9ct gold and the back has British hallmarks for the maker 'EFC', 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'Q' for 1965. The case has a lovely twisted edge style gold border. The back of the compass has been set with a round piece of carnelian, a stone known for its symbolism of courage and seen as an amulet for protection and motivation - a very fitting stone to pair with the compass!
The compass itself has a silver coloured metal border and a glass window front. The needle inside does move like you'd expect a compass needle to but we can't vouch for the accuracy of the compass today.
The charm measures approx 21.8mm tall (not including the jump ring but including the ring at the top the jump ring is connected to) by approx 18mm in diameter by approx 7.8mm deep and weighs approx 4.2g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear to both the gold outer casing, the compass and the carnelian to the back. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. As mentioned above the compass needle does still move but we cannot vouch for its accuracy. Please see photos and video.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm/pendant will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
