The door to new opportunities awaits! We love the deep symbolism surrounding doors and like to think this fun vintage 1960s gold door locket could represent a variety of things.

The door is wonderfully detailed and is hinged to reveal a compartment inside where you could keep a photo or other small memento.

The door of the locket is sprung so when it is pulled open it does pop open part way itself. It can then be pushed the rest of the way open. Such a fun and unusual little detail!

The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to the back for the maker 'AJLtd', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'h' for 1963.

The locket measures approx 23.2mm tall (not including the fitting at the top or the jump ring) by approx 12.2mm wide (when closed) by approx 5.3mm deep and weighs approx 2.8g.

Condition - The locket is in good vintage condition but it does show significant signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold throughout, including some small dings. Inside the gold is discoloured in places and there is a small gold fitting to the bottom which we believe once may have had something attached to it. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. The hinge mechanism of the locket still works well and the locket clicks closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the antique chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the locket will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
