We love searching for antique and vintage gold charms as you never know what you're going to find next - like this rare and highly collectable vintage gold beetle charm that holds a fantastic secret inside!
The beetle is wonderfully detailed to the outside and when you open it, you reveal a tiny version of The Beatles inside and the lyrics 'Yeah yeah yeah' from the song 'She Loves You'. The four figures are joined together and move on the hinge from one side of the beetle to the other.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to the outisde underneath of the beetle for the maker 'G&H', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'h' for 1963. The hallmarks are now a little worn.
The charm weighs approx 5g and when closed the beetle measures approx 22.9mm long (not including the jump ring) by approx 15mm wide by approx 8.7mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some surface wear and tarnishing to the gold inside and out. The hinge mechanism works well and the charm clicks securely closed. The jump ring is made from yellow 9ct gold and is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
