We love searching for antique and vintage charms as you never quite know what you're going to find next! How sweet is this vintage gold Noah's Ark charm!? Not only does it have lovely detailing throughout, the charm also opens to reveal tiny animals inside including a giraffe and a duck/swan. Some of the enamels have sweet enamel detailing too although this has worn away in places to reveal the gold underneath.
The charm is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks for the maker 'AJH', 9ct gold, Birmingham and what looks to be the date letter 'O' for 1963. The pattern of the boat runs through the hallmarks which makes the date letter mark a little hard to make out clearly.
The charm measures approx 15.1mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 22.7mm wide by approx 6.8mm deep and weighs approx 3.95g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and some significant enamel loss to the enamels. The top of the boat closes firmly with a click and the hinge still works well. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
