We can't help but think that this vintage gold ship charm was based on a pirate ship. It's wonderfully detailed throughout and actually opens at the bottom to reveal hidden treasure inside!

The charm is made of 9ct gold and has the maker's mark 'HSLTD' to one side of the ship and to the other the marks for 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'N' for 1962. There is some enamel detail to the ship but this has worn away in places to reveal the gold underneath.

The charm weighs approx 2g and measures approx 20.1mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 18.8mm wide by approx 5.9mm deep.

Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear including surface wear to the gold and quite a bit of enamel loss to the ship. The treasure in the opening of the ship is made of faux gemstones likely made of plastic (these have not been tested) and are glued in place, some are a little out of place. The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm clicks closed. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
