Bees carry such a lot of symbolism; including fertility, focus, industry and persistence to name just a few things! This beehive charm could also be a sweet gift for your honey, we love its petite size, complete with a tiny bee to the outside. It even opens too to reveal a tiny piece of gold honeycomb inside.
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to the bottom for the maker 'FM', 9ct gold, London and what looks to be the date letter 'e' for 1960.
The charm measures approx 12mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 7.5mm wide by approx 9mm deep and weighs approx 1.95g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some surface wear and patina to the gold . The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm closes with a click. The bee does look to have once had enamel detailing to it but this has now almost completely worn away. There are just a few small places where the enamel can still be seen. The ring at the the top that the jump ring attaches on to has worn a little thin. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
