This vintage signet ring is absolutely fabulous! Made of buttery 18ct gold, it has a fantastic weight to it and the face features a hand grasping/holding an anchor!
The ring is made of 18ct gold and has British hallmarks for 18ct gold, London and the date letter 'C' for 1958. There was a maker's mark but this has almost completely been lost to what looks like a previous resize to the ring.
Ring size - approx a US 5 / approx a UK J 1/2, due to the ring's size and it's chunky design it does feel to wear smaller than it measures on a ring mandrel.
The ring weighs approx 8.9g and the face measures approx 13.5mm by 11.7mm. The shank tapers down to approx 3.3mm wide at the back of the shank.
Condition - The ring is in good, wearable vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the gold throughout, inside and outside of the shank, giving the ring a worn and lived in feel. We think the ring has been resized at some point in time as the maker's mark has now been almost completely lost. Please see photos.
