We can't help but be reminded of a night sky whenever we look at this vintage gold ring. It's set with an old cut diamond in a pretty setting that almost looks like a twinkling star.
Perhaps you're a night owl or a lover of all things celestial - if so we think this ring would be perfect for you! Diamonds are also the birthstone for April babies so this would make a beautiful birthstone piece.
The ring is made of a 9ct gold with a lovely warm rosey tone to it. The ring has British hallmarks inside the shank for 9ct gold, London and what looks to be the date letter 'O' for 1929. There is also a maker's mark which is quite worn and hard to make out clearly. There is also a faint, hand marked number inside the ring that reads '1293' which we believe is likely an old stock number.
Ring size - approx a UK N / approx a US 6.75 Due to the ring's wide design it does feel to wear snugger on the finger than it measures on a ring mandrel but this will depend slightly on your finger shape/width.
The ring weighs approx 4.5g and it measures approx 8.3mm wide at the front, tapering down to approx 3mm wide at the back of the shank. ever so slightly at the back of the shank to 7.5mm wide.
Condition - The ring is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear throughout, including surface wear to the gold and diamond. The ring has been resized at some point in time and there are marks and discolouration to the gold both inside and outside of the shank at the back of the ring. We have tried to show this as best we can in the photos however due to the gold's reflective surface it is quite hard to capture in places. The diamond has some surface wear and nibbles. Please see photos - the last photo has been taken with a magnifying loupe so you can see the diamond under magnification.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the ring will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch*
