We love a ring with a little mystery and we think this beauty would have some stories to tell if it could talk! It looks as though the double row rose cut diamond panel to the front was originally from an antique piece of jewellery, perhaps part of a brooch or necklace, and it has been converted into a ring with a newer rose gold shank. The original piece could have been inherited and passed down through generations. Conversions were common if one larger piece of jewellery was to be split between siblings so they could each have a wearable jewel to remember their loved one. 
 
The ring has six rose cut diamonds set into a two row formation in open back settings. The diamonds have lovely tall profiles so the ring looks pretty spectacular from a side profile too. Each diamond varies in size and shape making them completely unique from one another. The two sides of the face of the ring also has lovely open work detailing. The face of the ring measures approx 9mm by 6mm. 
 
The shank is a newer addition made of 9ct rose gold. It widens from each shoulder to a lovely chunky width of approx 3mm wide at the back. The shank is hallmarked inside for the maker 'JH&S', 9ct gold, Sheffield, England and has the date letter 'C' for 2002. The ring weighs approx 2.2g in total.

Condition - The ring is in good condition but does show signs of age and wear. Under close inpsection, the diamonds do show signs of surface wear and have natural inclusions. The gold also has surface wear too. There are join marks visible inside and slightly on the outside of the shank too from when the shank has been added. There are also some marks to the open work detailing on the sides of the ring's face.
