You set my heart on fire! This sweet pair of matching vintage gold and enamel matchsticks are fabulous charms with such symbolism.
We think as they are a matching pair, they could have been made to represent the phrase 'twin flame'. The phrase means someone you have an intense soul connection with and you think of as your 'other half', based on the belief that one soul can split into two bodies. We love that these two charms could be worn by two people who consider themselves to be twin flames. Having a pair of matchsticks could also symbolise the phrase 'a perfect match' too!
Each matchstick is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks for the maker 'C&T', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'C' for 1977. Each matchstick also has red enamel detailing to one end.
The matchsticks charms each weigh approx 1.7g each and measure approx 43mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 3.6mm wide.
Condition - The matchstick charms are in used vintage condition and do show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and enamel. Both matchsticks have chips and enamel loss to the red tips with significant areas of the gold now showing through underneath where the enamel has now been lost. The jump rings are currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note this listing is for both charms. The box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charms will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
