We love finding these antique love tokens, you never know what engravings or stones you're going to find! These sentimental gifts are made of coins, sometimes smoothed down on either one side or both and hand engraved with names, terms of endearment, special dates or even secret messages and then gifted to your loved one - such a sweet present to show your love! Sometimes, like this example, instead of being engraved they were set with gemstones.
This particular coin has a sweet small round opal set in a pretty star like setting to the side featuring Queen Victoria. It would make such a special charm for an October babe!
The coin is a British threepence coin, a coin no longer in circulation in the UK, that dates to between 1896.
The love token is made of sterling silver (unmarked) and measures approx 16mm in diameter (approx 19.5mm tall including the jump ring at the top) and weighs approx 1.4g.
Condition - The love token is in good antique condition with some surface wear and patina to the silver and some surface wear to the opal. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the pendant will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
