How sweet is this antique 1920s sterling silver and enamel baby's rattle!? We love the pop of blue enamel to highlight the lettering to the front and it actually rattles too. This would likely have once been an actual baby's rattle but we think it would make such a sentimental pendant to wear on a long chain or perhaps a one of a kind christening gift.
The rattle is made of sterling silver and has British hallmarks to the back for the maker 'C&N', the lion passant for sterling silver, Birmingham and the date letter 'X' for 1922.
The rattle measures approx 35mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 30.1mm wide by approx 14.8mm deep and weighs approx 7.7g in total.
Condition - The rattle is in good antique condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the silver and some significant enamel loss to the lettering. The bell does still jingle when lightly rattled. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
