The thing we love most about searching for antique and vintage jewellery is you truly never know what you'll find next. Like this unusual pendant featuring a British 1919 farthing coin in the centre.
Set within a horseshoe border, black enamel highlights the wording 'KEEP ME AND YOU WILL NEVER BE BROKE'. A nod to the value of the 1919 farthing coin set in the centre.
We love that this is such a wearable piece of history, with the farthing coin becoming demonitised in 1960.
The pendant is made of base metal and measures approx 37.8mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 35.6mm wide by approx 1.5mm deep and weighs approx 10.6g in total.
Condition - The pendant is in good antique condition but it does show considerable signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the metal, enamel and coin which is to be expected for a pendant that's over 100 years old. The coin looks to have been soldered in place at some point and the solder is visible to the front and back of the pendant. The jump ring is currently pushed closed and is silver in tone.
