These antique gold hooks have become highly sought after over the last few years. Originally it would likely have once been part of an antique watch chain but today they are often being used as chain extenders, interesting pendants, or even as charm holders. Such a versatile piece of jewellery!
The hook is made of gold, unhallmarked but tests as 9ct gold, and the gold has a lovely warm, soft rose tone to it. Without hallmarks, it's hard to date exactly but we think it's likely late Victorian in age.
The hook measures approx 24.4mm tall by 9.8mm wide by approx 3.2mm deep and weighs approx 1.2g.
Condition - The hook is in good antique condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold throughout and also some dark marks near the top. The shape of the hook has moved slightly over time. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
