A timeless classic, this antique heart padlock is such a versatile piece to add to your jewellery box. Often used as clasps for charm bracelets, these padlocks can also be added onto chains and worn as a pendant and you can even add charms to them and use them as charm holders too!
What we love about this padlock in particular is that it's been hand chased to the front with a beautiful pattern making it a little more unusual than some of the plain gold ones we see.
The padlock is made of 9ct gold and it has an old British mark for 9ct gold to the back, '9CT'. It also has the maker's mark 'W.J.S' too. As well as the pretty hand engraving to the front, the front also has lovely faux screw and keyhole detailing. The lever opens by pulling upwards and closes with a click so it is nice and secure when worn.
The padlock measures approx 18mm tall (including the ring on the top bar and ring at the very top) by approx 10.5mm wide by approx 1.9mm deep and weighs approx 0.7g.
Condition - The padlock is in good antique condition with some surface wear to the gold throughout. The padlock closes with a click and the top bar pulls upwards to open. There is an old solder mark to the bar where the small ring has been attached. This is what a safety chain or jump ring could be connected to. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the padlock will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
